Small town vibes

Last night when friend and I were out and about I got a feel for what life could have been like back around the time I was born. There's a hardware store downtown that has the feel of the 50's. A father and son run the place. Oh my what a treasure. They have life sized plastic Mrs. Claus out front all lit up and twinkling lights to walk through. And wheelbarrows! My downtown has a bunch of shops that sell antiques and such. This hardware has a front corner that houses antique glassware of all sizes, shapes, lengths and dazzling colors. I spied a three shelf stand there last night. It was heavy wrought iron and black. It was priced fairly. Friend's SUV was parked about a half block away. The hardware guy sweetly packed the piece to the vehicle for us. Very very Christmasy and like I said, Small Town. After we had the shelving unit in the vehicle friend and I walked across the street to the Irish pub and enjoyed a silly treat: corned beef eggrolls. I felt weird sitting there, 7 at night, laughing and eating a very tasty eggroll. Totally not my usual but sweet for sure.

@sallypup Yes. It is. It's called the oldest city, but it's more like a small town. We have one of everything more or less. And, I lived on an island.

@kaylachan Oh yeah. Pont De Leon?? The fountain of youth story? I remember that from when I was a kid.
