Thanks to my Dad, who was a music enthusiast, I grew up loving music. That said there are some songs that make me feel like the Grinch tapping my fingers looking down on Whoville. Here are some Christmas songs that bring the Grinch out in me.
In no particular order they are
Please, Daddy (Don't Get Drunk on Christmas) by John Denver. Released in 1973. This was my childhood with both parents.
Funky, Funky X-mas by New Kids On The Block. Released in 1989. Was never into boy bands of that era.
Happy Christmas (War Is Over) by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Released 1971. Yoko Ono--enough said
Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney. Released in 1979. Hard to believe that two of the greatest song writers (Lennon and McCartney) of the 60s could each release bad Christmas songs.
All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey. Released in 1994. To be fair ALL of her songs bring out the Grinch in me..
There are others but they don't make me as Ginchy as these. What Christmas songs bring out the Grinch in you?

Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer--I get Grinchy for that. I will say, though, that at our school Grinch is a symbol of kindness and he spends the two weeks before Christmas challenging the students to be extraordinarily kind.

I hate “Wonderful Christmas Time”. It’s vastly annoying. But I could listen to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” as often as anyone wants to play it. It reminds me of happy times growing up. That being said, I understand why others would be annoyed by it.

Funny. I love that war is over song though it makes me sad how it is deeply needed right now. I am not a fan of songs like Silver Bells. I lean more toward the classics played on the hammered dulcimer. The Bowie and Bing Crosby duo video is sweet though again it is needed too much in divided America.

I am not a fan of anything by Mariah Carey.
I don't like Gramma Got Ran over by a Reindeer, it is a little crude.
We sing Jingle Bells over and over again with the twins, and as much as I should be tired of it, it only reminds me of how they sang it last year, and it is still a favorite.

I was a New Kids on the Block kid. My best friend and I loved them. For me I don't like the Mariah Carey song either, but I do like her other songs. I don't like Wonderful Christmastime either.
