We Celebrated Our Private Christmas Today

My husband and I wanted a day to celebrate Christmas and exchange gifts just to ourselves.
I'll actually in India or Nepal on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so we won't be together. And this Saturday we have Christmas Dinner with his mom and brother, but that's too many people and we don't exchange gifts with them, so we chose today to be our special "us" day.
We had lunch at Smokey Bones.
When we got home we put on soothing music on Alexa, turned the fireplace on, made sugar-free hot chocolate, and opened our gifts to each other.
I got hubby exactly what he asked for - - - gift cards to Amazon and Apple.
Hubby got me "head to toe pampering" gift cards for a massage, a facial, and two mani-pedi's.
We've had an extra special day. It's our 18th Christmas together.

That’s super cool to have a get-together for just yourselves. I think a lot of people forget to have “private time” this time of year.

@looeyville My kind of Christmas. I wish more people did that. I can’t be doing with all the hoo haa of Christmas. I was so happy to be in India two Christmases in a row in the late 70s, well away from the nonsense, but Santa turned up anyway in his black boots, white bead and red suit in the scorching midday sun in Goa.
