I always enjoy learning interesting facts about the holidays. I thought you might also. Here are a few: * Sir Henry Cole, the founder of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, commissioned the first commercial Christmas card in 1843. * Historians actually think that Jesus was born in the spring. * Ancient Egyptians used to celebrate the winter solstice by decorating their homes with green palms, Romans celebrated Saturnalia with evergreen boughs. This signified that spring would return. * The first Christmas trees started in Germany in the 16th century. * Queen Victoria and her husband, German Prince Consort Albert had themselves sketched in 1848 standing in front of their tree.
