Finally, it seems my patience has paid off

Those of you that read my discussions probably remember when I switched my home insurance insurance and got my property tax reduced. Dealing with the entity that holds my mortgage was a real Murphy's law situation. Also, my previous insurance company was no picnic either. I finally had my mortgage reduced this month .and should be for the foreseeable future plus I got a hefty check for my escrow over payment. This took forever and a day and I had to call .but it seems I am now reading the benefits Did you ever have a situation that took a long time to resolve positively?

Dealing with those companies is a pain. When I first bought my house I didn’t know anything about the practice of buying and selling mortgages between companies. I got fed up with having three different mortgage companies in a year, so I went to my credit union and had THEM get the mortgage. That way, the money was local, I could make my own rules regarding escrow (I chose to pay the property taxes and insurance premiums myself instead of having an escrow account), and I could waltz in the home office in 2019 with the final payment. My VA case took five years to resolve, but that was definitely in my favor.

This is with a credit union..but they certainly don't seem to be a customer friendly one. So glad you got your CA situation resolved .

Yes, getting our phone switched over to Kinetic/Windstream. I now have a working phone; but it's not our phone number...so it's actually not resolved yet. Have a good week.

@LindaOHio I am not sure what their problem is. Even a rinky dink phone company will let your port your number.

@snowy22315 They are on my list of calls to make. We'd better get our number after waiting for almost 3 months!!!!!

Oh yes, insurance companies can be a lot of hassle, whether you are changing companies or receiving a check from them. When I recently switched car insurance companies, I had to go through few hoops to get an additional discount. And then they adjusted the price twice on me, but still made out with a better deal, so it worked out. Well, until the policy comes due again, then who knows.

I have an app to get a discount on my car insurance and it used to work fine..since the "update" it no longer works, better get that going before the bill comes out again!

I can relate to it. I once purchase Government bonds to reduce the taxes. Although the instrument promised me a good deal , the trouble was I never thought of the redemption part properly. It was supposed to be returned after 5 months , but it was not properly written how and when. I got hold of an agent and well I missed the deadline when it was 5 years , and had to wait another 2 years. Finally at 7 .5 years , I got the money with interest although there were many followups and chasing. I understood the hurdles and dropped the idea to invest on bonds for now. Well, good to read you got the benefits. Enjoy the time!

We are still dealing with one such situation but there is a reasonable amount of money involved so we'll push on with it.

Yes, and call them, or they will likely put you on the back burner, and you will hear nothing.
