A Demonic Entity

Depression is like a tall cement wall. You find yourself up against it and it becomes all powerful. For some it's like a scene from a movie. It attracts your attention for a minute and then it's gone. Not so for me. Major Depression is a whole different ball game. It permeates your entire life. It's not a low mood. It is a demonic entity that is starving. It takes parts of you bit by bit. But, I get a grip on it from time to time and I can live for awhile. I soar, not like I'm manic or anything(speed is the only thing that would do that for me)but feel normal for a while. I have energy and I can think clearly for a while. About the time I have gotten invested in a little normality it flashes like a bad electrical outlet and the normal is gone . That's where I am right now.

Could your mom's dark times be due to depression My mom's did. I don't like the world and I'm just afraid venturing out would make it worse.

I'm so sorry. Are you on medication? Meds have done wonders for me. Try and have a good week.

I am on one, yes. But none really help. I've even had the DNA testing that is supposed to help and none of the ones it showed did the trick either. The doc says the only other route is electro therapy. Nice, huh?

I have spent the better part of my life in therapy. Finding a good one takes time and by then I've done my own therapy.

Dealing with depression can be tough. Especially when you cannot attach any reason to it.

That's really rough. I cannot really imagine how difficult it is. I've been battling with loneliness. And though I wasn't diagnosed as clinically depressed, I have those dark times. I've been having it for a few days now but I just crochet and take my mind somewhere.
It's not as rough as yours.
