Doing something out of love

I was reading an interview with Gukesh, the new World Chess Champion, who said he plays chess for the unbridled joy it brings him and not for the money. He has considered the chessboard the coolest thing in his life since the day he first got it.
I think that's what we should all do. Do something for love and money will come automatically.
However, many of us are not happy with our jobs. Like I wanted to be an author when I was little but that's not gonna pay my bills. I think you also need luck to be successful in your passion.
What's your take?
Do you love your job now? Or you do it to pay bills?

I definitely love my job. The passion has just developed eventually. It started with the need to get by but eventually I realized it should not only be grounded by your need to survive. I gradually development the love for my profession. I also continue to improve it in so many ways.

@Dreamerby I always had this stereotype that Kolkata is known for books, food and song!

Yeah. But finding a thriving profession in your passion is indeed a luck factor. Otherwise its just sticking around and paying bills.

i think that people who can make living by doing their hobbies are extremely lucky
i loved the field i chose to study and it was really interesting and looked promising while studying - we were supposed to be able to get a job at many different places. after graduation i realized that things aren't that "bright" and i just went with whatever came up. i never imagined myself in kindergarten, but that was the only workplace i could work at the time and i wanted to try. i loved working with kids, but it also brought me much stress. i lived with my family and i didn't have to worry about bills or anything, so i guess i was doing it for love and experience.
i'm currently unemployed and i'm not sure if i'd go for kindergaten again. i would like to see if there are any other options. maybe i'd like something else better. meanwhile i realized that i don't really care about the job - i just want work environment to be good and to be well paid. i think that's important
what about you?

I can add a different dimension to that. Doing something with passion is what most of us want . And we have complete freedom , that does help to a large extent. However, when it comes to jobs especially desk jobs there are targets which are simply a burden and making things more pressurised. So people tend to lose the passion and just look to meet targets. This is even true for medical area as well. However, for jobs where there are no targets and you have the freedom, would say they arelucky and should continue in that path and make the best out of it. Believe most atheletes do have that . Good to know your earlier interest. Enjoy the day!

@Dreamerby Very true. Financial obligations keep us grounded even when insane targets come to us!

Last year I turned my hobby into business. It was something I never thought could happen. And last year, I was surprised how much money it was giving me. Not as big as the my other businesses but my earnings in a day is already a month's salary for others.

We should be thankful and contented of what we have - but not to the extent that we should stay broke. Working to earn money is not bad at all.

It is very difficult to get jobs which human beings love. If a student loves Geography the parents will tell better study science so that he or she can get engineering jobs
