Not enough iCloud storage

My iPhone hasn’t been backed up in weeks because I don’t have enough iCloud storage. I’m told to upgrade iCloud for 99¢ per month or get rid of stuff to free up space. I know it’s not expensive to pay that much a month but I still can’t bring myself to do it.
However, I don’t think I can update my iOS unless I back up my phone first. In that case I will have no choice but to upgrade iCloud. I doubt that deleting some photos will free up much space. I’d have to delete a ton of them, which I don’t want to do.

Glad I don't have to worry about such things since I don't have a phone, However to get myself more gift cards and other things might be forced to look for a regular mobile phone in the new year, Ot course, I won't need Internet so it should be all right, I hope you solve your storage problems,

I think I will have no choice but to pay the 99¢ monthly. I hate that they make you pay for storage. My mom pays for hers.

Yeah, that really des suck. I know Apple doesn't really give you much to start with. And, if you have a lot of photos and videos that'll eat up the most.

The free one is only 5GB I believe. This one I think gives you 50GB. Not sure what else is in the cloud besides photos.

If the storage they offer me is 99 cents per month I doubt it will go up astromonically.

I have all my photos on a portable (if that's the word) hard drive. Maybe it's called 'external hard drive'.
