A crime spree for Christmas

I don't know how things are where you live, but break ins around here are up during the holidays. A friend at church, an older woman who lives alone had her home broken into recently. Thankfully she wasn't home, but they ransacked and tore up things, not sure what all was taken. But it's very distressing to experience that. And it's not the first time it's happened to her. We live in the country like she does and we've been broken into twice over the years. I know it gets worse during the holidays. I hate to even leave the house, although we have a security system and take precautions. Please be careful wherever you live. 2nd Timothy 3:1-4 in the Holy Bible reads, "...there will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money,...without self-control, brutal, treacherous, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God..."

When I moved into my current apartments, the manager gave me a print out on ways to help keep yourself from being robbed. But those ways wouldn’t really help much if I lived in an actual house.

That is sad, of course, and concerning. I imagine people are more in need, but the truth is people are opportunists and are actually "more in greed".

I think the more in greed is truer.

Same here. Not only breaking ins. But they mug those who came from ATM machines, getting their salary, bonuses and all they can get.

That's scary. I'm always nervous at night now that I'm alone. Have a good day.

Do you have security cameras? I hope you'll get a system if you don't already have one.

I know what you're saying but I am lucky I live up and down below are four burly guys my friend and his sons, I don't expect any break-ins, I did read an article about places in Florida where you can expect your packages to be stolen, It is a shame that people don't want to work hard to make their own holidays special but make it easier for themselves by stealing, I feel sorry for that old lady she must feel so uncomfortable now perhaps she should get a dog,

We've tried to talk her into getting a security system.

There has been opportunist thieves taking parcels from doorways in our city. We feel quite secure here but it pays to be cautious.
