Thanks to the actions of an eyewitness who saw two dolphins who were trapped in shallow water of a lagoon in Lee County, officials with the Lee County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) Marine Unit and the Florida Fish And Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) teamed up to rescue the dolphins who may have been trapped in the shallow water for about one month.
The rescue team used shallow water boats to find the dolphins by placing the dolphins on floating mats, pulling them through 300 yards of mud and muck into deeper water on Wednesday into the Matlacha Pass where the dolphins went back home safe and sound.
The dolphins were trapped in the shallow waters which were two feet deep in the trails where the dolphins were likely placed there when high tide came into the area due to Hurricane Milton which passed over the area in October.

That looks like a major rescue, with a lot of people involved. It was good that they could pull the dolphins back to deeper water again. A rescue like that would have cost a lot, I expect too.

I am sure that the cost of rescuing the dolphins will be very expensive.
