To Have And To Hold

Some of you may (or may not) recall that my mom died four years ago, and Dad five years before that. Well, now it time for my best friend since seventh grade to lose her mom, too. I realized the end was near the other day when I saw the change of my friend's Facebook profile picture and that prompted me to write this poem.
To have and to hold my mother once more,
to feel her warmth as I did before.
Her nurturing embrace and sheltering grasp—
time has stolen what my heart still clasps.
Her arms were a haven— her voice was my guide—
gone now, yet in my heart, she will always abide.
Throughout many days, months, and years,
the ache for her touch always stays near.
I was not young when she passed away and I am older still,
carrying her memory with me, though time it does not heal.

Lovely sentiments, Sorry your friend will lose her mom, I got lucky when my mom passed in 1996 my mother-in-law stepped in and was like a real mom to me, I still missed my mom but it all got easier, So hard when she passed too.
