This is a Filipino traditional headwear. It is lightweight and use as protection from sun and rain. This is usually made of bamboo, ferns, or palm leaves. I bought this for my daughter's class for one of their plays at school. Do you have a traditional headwear?

what kind of play is she having? this is Bosnian traditional clothes, but people don't dress this way anymore. only if they're participating in traditional folklore dancing. men sometimes wear this hat (fes) for Eid. some ladies are wearing skirts (dimije) like this in the photo, but they're not made of silk like traditional ones, but out of other, more simple and "everyday" material. and some ladies also wear scarves on their head

Well, when you say traditional headwear, and I think of where I live, I think of the cowboy hat. You’ll see a lot of them on men around here.

I guess our famous Akubra outback hats might be seen as traditional. Your hats look very attractive.

@rakski They have become something of an icon, yes. They are often worn by our Olympic athletes.

Some of our communities wear headwear. But their head wears are made of cloth.I've never heard of headwears made of bamboo.

That's cute! It reminds me of the "stereotypical" Chinese rice hats. I hope my country is still a mystery, but it's relatively popular in terms of hats. Pretty western anyway, not in the cowboy way, more like European. But I wouldn't call it "traditional". They're just hats, dunno.

We have a lot of influences during the old times. Some hats come from the Western and some from Chinese as well and some Spanish
