I am going to be rich on paper, broke in practice for next 2 weeks!

I messed up my holidays big time! First, I forgot to bring one of my best clothes and today I realize I forgot to keep my Visa credit card in my wallet! I accidently kept in my shirt pocket after paying at a gas station and forgot to keep the same back in my wallet. I did not pack that shirt. I do have my AMEX credit card but it is not selected in most places where I have come for vacation.
I do not have a check book with me. In India, we have UPI (real-time payment system directly between bank accounts via mobile devices), which has a restriction of around $1200 purchase a day. My debit card has restrictions , so that is not helping me in this situation. My plan was to use the credit card to make the purchases, big or small. I wanted to use my next salary plus the balance to pay off the credit card. However, it is going to be hard to make any big purchases. And cash in the account would not help even for moderate purchases.
Most of my near and dear ones should be out of cash as it is the holiday season and well I could either make smaller purchases or go to places where my other credit card is accepted. I used to depend on the main credit card for all my purchases, but not having it in hand has resulted me being rich on paper (not Richie Rich, just mid income rich ) and broke in practice for next 2 weeks!
It would be a challenge for me till the first week of New Year! Lesson learnt in a hard way!

Well, I was careless and not thinking while travelling and paid the price. Luckily , so far was able to manage with cash and Amex. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, it was definitely inconvenient as I had to depend on cash whereas Amex was not accepted. Luckily , so far so good. Thanks for support!

That is why it is so important to have a little notebook pocket with you, where all your list are being list down and mark it check when everything is inside the bag. believe me it saves me for what happened to you because it happens to me in the past, but not anymore. lol! And it is better to packed a day or the night before you travel.
