The GOP clown show is in chaos

and wow are many of the people who voted for Trump going to regret cutting off their noses to spite their own faces. Oh the next couple of months are going to be entertaining. . . for me. Not for them.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson produced a bipartisan continuing resolution bill to fund the government until March. BIPARTISAN. Elon Musk didn't like the spending and apparently Trump didn't want anything budget-related passed until he is inaugurated. Elmo repeatedly posted on Twitter yesterday saying that the CR shouldn't be passed and anyone voting for it should be primaried. Eventually Trump and JD Vance issued a joint statement against the CR. That meant the deal was effectively dead.
With the government set to shut down in just 1 day Johnson and other members of Congress scrambled to try to come up with a new palatable continuing resolution. One of Trump's demands was to suspend the debt limit for 2 years. Um hello? Hard core conservatives (and their constituents) are totally against raising/suspending the debt limit. It was just announced that there is a second proposal. . . that includes suspending the debt limit.
That simply isn't going to fly with non-MAGA cult member Congresspeople. Texas representative Chip Roy has already said that he is a "hard no". Guess who immediately started posting that Chip Roy should be primaried? Trump. Roy is a super-conservative member of Congress and Trump wants to get rid of him. Tennessee's rep Tim Burchett just said on CNN that he is still working out what his vote will be. He has always supported Trump's stupid ideas.
This also has led to not-so-subtle comments about Speaker Johnson's future in the upcoming Congress. Again there are read-between-the-lines comments basically saying that he is going to face a challenge and likely will not be Speaker after this term. Do we all remember the last 2 fiascos when Republicans tried to select a Speaker? HAHAHAHAHAHA Oh I'd LOVE to see that again. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has already said that the Democrat representatives will not save him again.
With the new CR proposal including a suspension of the debt limit it will be difficult to get it passed as Democrats are pissed that a bipartisan bill was sunk by Elmo and Trump. The more conservative GOP reps will struggle to vote for it because they are torn between fealty to Trump and their principles/desire of their constituents.
As much as I don't want it to happen I wouldn't be surprised if there is a government shutdown. Some of the MAGA cult members of Congress are tweeting "shut it down!" Merry Christmas to the military, people who are on SNAP (food stamps), government employees, etc. who won't get paid until a CR is passed. You thought the price of eggs was bad now? Wait until you don't get that government $$ to pay for them.
I could go on and on but I won't. The next few months if not years are going to be a total Republican clown show. Enjoy it MAGA!
