I love a cassowary for the unique blend of colors that are there on its head and eyes. I just found out they are endangered and need to be protected. I've seen them only in some wildlife parks and zoos and never in the wild. I wonder how they look in the wild.

There are some plants that only grow if the seeds are eaten by a cassowary then excreted. Their natural habitat is tropical rainforest country so Papua New Guinea and parts of northern Australia but only in the east.

That's useful information. There was a nice write up in the zoo that mentioned some of what you've written!

I am glad they are protected. If more people were familiar with them maybe more effort would be put towards caring for those in the wild. I have seen them before, but they aren’t as well known as they should be.
