My new favorite show on Amazon is Fallout, based on the video game of the same name. Finding decent new shows on streaming is like panning for gold, certainly some shiny metal amongst the rocks here. Its nice to find a show I finally enjoy although American studios have a habit of cutting good shows after just one season. The ending set up season two but we will see. It begins in 1950s Los Angeles, the beginning of the atomic age in America. Our main protagonist is Cooper Howeard (Walter Goggins), a macho cowboy movie star who lives well in the Hollywood Hills. Ten minutes into episode one and a nuclear Armageddon hits, the cowboy racing away from the mushroom clouds on his horse with his son. 200 years later we are introduced to communities living in nuclear bunkers, specifically bunker 33, Someone was prepared fro Armageddon and two or three generations have been surviving underground, and in relative luxury. Here we meet Lucy McLean (Ella Purnell) , seemingly enthrall of her father and the community. But cracks begin to appear when Bunker number 32 is opened. Bunker 31 remains a mystery to both. Its seems the radiation on the surface is livable as we meet communities living up top m some aggressive, some not. But the mystery deepens as all is not as it seems. Its very stylish in its imagery and ideas of a dystopian landscape, funny and ultra violent at times, any excuse for spurting blood and exploding body parts. Its acted in a comic way but good fun as the elements of the video game are introduced. If you play the game you will know those characters and places. If you fancy getting into a new show thats above average and original then this is got you guys.

I don't do Amazon, either shop or stream. I agree about so many shows not lasting very long. For that reason I usually wait two or even three seasons before getting involved in a series. I just can't handle the let down of the studio dropping a show I have gotten interested in.
