On January 15th my surgery is rescheduled, so I have to be well. However now I have a soar throat, cough and a little off and on drainage in my throat as well. This started yesterday. I have been drinking hot tea with honey, taking spoons full of honey, jello and drinking chicken broth. I took some Tylenol yesterday morning. Finally last night my stomach needed something more solid in it. So I decided to eat some Cream of Wheat hot cereal so it would be more solid yet not rub my throat. Last night my daughter gave me some cough drops. Can you think of anything else?

It seems like you're doing everything possible to get yourself well. I can't think of what else you could do.

Try gargling with salt water. It helps. Sorry about your throat

You are doing everything you can to soothe your symptoms. You should be well by the time your surgery rolls around. Try and have a nice Christmas Eve.

Hope you feel and get better soon! Drink up to keep hydrated and get plenty of rest. I like to toss a lot of garlic in soups when that happens. Also I stay away from dairy and sugar during those times.
