I went to IKEA yesterday

I used to live 10 minutes from there so I went there all the time. These days it is a long ways and a ton of traffic to get there and back, but I managed to pick up a few things in my 45 or 50 minutes in the store. I could used twice that, but the longer I waited the worse the traffic would be, and I didn't want to drive back in the dark I couldn't find what I originally sent there for but I got some mulled beverages although this had no alcohol for two bucks, a small funnel, a pillow, a lint brush, gingerbread cookie dough for a dollar fifty and some modestly priced storage containers. What I really should have gotten was light bulbs or batteries since they have great prices on those, but like I said I was kind of in a rush, and by the time I thought of it I was in the final stages of the trip . I did manage to visit the restaurant though for their inexpensive and delicious Swedish meatballs. Have you been to IKEA? I was just thinking I could order the stuff I missed iine

I thought they were a furniture store! I think I have gotten stuff there. Especially when I first moved here, many moons ago.

@TheHorse I wouldn't dare buy anything too complicated to construct. Not my bailiwick

@snowy22315 I have put together a few bookshelves and other things from Ikea. It can be pretty comical when things go wrong.

@rakski I really wish I had had time to look at the lighting. I could use more energy efficient bulbs and a couple of regular ones too

@snowy22315 this is fairly a new one, probably 2-3 years. I like their furnitures. I'm saving to buy an expandable table next year

You braved IKEA yesterday - was it crazy crowded there? We hope to go after the holidays . It's about a half hour drive to get there for us - but yah, traffic is nuts. Daughter and I love walking through to get room ideas. Now I'm craving those Swedish meatballs !

No, it really wasn't crowded Thank God Now, if it was a weekend, I am sure it would have been. This one used to beocated within the confines of the mall, but maybe 15 or 20 years ago they built a warehouse nearby..with probably double the space

@snowy22315 Our local IKEA was like that . . . actually across the street from a mall, but no room for expansion. They moved a few blocks over and built a new spacious one too with way bigger parking.

@snowy22315 - They have so many things. At their food store, here they sell a delicious marinated salmon and you can also buy their meatballs frozen.

Ikea is quite a drive from us too but they have all sorts of stuff that you don't find in any of our other stores. I love wandering through the various 'rooms' that they set up.

I have never been to an IKEA. I think the closest one is three hours away, in Tulsa. I’d like to try their meatballs sometime.

Not bad at all I find it a fun place to shop it just convenient for me to go to anymore. Traffic makes me edgy.

as far as I know IKEA only produces home furnishings in my country and I have never been there (only seen them in online stores).

IKEA has always been far from where I've lived, I think I visited twice or thrice. I loved their ginger cookies, but we mostly went there for the candles, we probably bought some glasses as well. Ordering online would be a great idea for me too, if I don't order anything fragile that'd be.

They had some neat red and white striped candles, but I have quite a few candles already, plus lots of Christmas decor

It's a good place to shop especially if you need inexpensive furniture or lighting.
