SO there has been very few shows like Nathan For You,very original and a delicious send up of reality TV. Self styled 'business consultant' and geek Nathan Fielder offers his services to small business to boost their profits. But his ideas are somewhat left-field, dumbfounding the business owners who have signed up for his services. He suggests to an ice-cream shop to improve sales to try and well a 'poo flavor ice cream', the idea being it draws a crowd to the store to see what this poo ice cream is all about Its created to taste like poo. Needless to say it was not popular but people packed the store anyway. And it goes on like that in season one, the ideas pretty bonkers but having some cyclical marketing truths to them. The business owners seem to be genuine and go along with it and with a camera crew in tow then why not? Its free PR right? I thought they might be actors but not the case. Nathan , however, has some IMDB credits for other shows so clearly not a business consultant. I guess he is exploiting ordinary Joe's to be made to look silly but the show is funny and they signed the wavers for the stuff to be used so must be OK with it. The only question remains is how staged it is. Did the people go along with it to be on TV? Did they think this rather deadpan chap could help them? Its up to you to decided. This is well worth a look.
