How I celebrated my birthday

My birthday started off with breakfast at Cafe Juliet. I had a Juliet breakfast brioche sandwich (custard style eggs, cheddar cheese, mayo, beef bacon, brioche bun), a coconut croissant, and rose petal latte (rose petal syrup, espresso, rose petals on top, steamed milk). After that hubby and I went to Atlantic City. We stayed at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino. My birthday dinner was at Gordon Ramsay Pub and Grill. Hubby and I shared everything we ordered. We had the duck poutine (confit duck, French fries, cheddar cheese curds, port wine gravy, pickled fresno chilis), English ale onion soup, Beef Wellington (filet mignon, mushroom duxelles, potato puree, root vegetables, red wine demi), Shepherd’s Pie (slow braised lamb, root vegetables, English peas, mashed potatoes), and for dessert sticky toffee pudding. We also shared a bottle of wine. After dinner we went to play the slots. I spent a lot of time on a pig slot machine. It was so much fun but the pigs ate all my money. It turned out to be around 2am when I finally called it quits and went to bed. We only stayed for one night. Had a late breakfast, played a little on slots, and then drove home. It was a pretty good birthday celebration. Would have been nice to leave a winner but my goal was just to have fun at the slots as I rarely go to casinos these days and really enjoy playing slots.

Definitely beats staying home. I went to Atlantic City twice before for my birthday.

Food was delicious. We weren’t able to eat everything so ended up with plenty of leftovers. It made for a nice dinner the next night.

Wish there was something else to do other than gamble. Wanted to see a show but there was no show Christmas Day.

Glad there was no prosciutto in it. Otherwise we’d not be able to eat it as we don’t eat pork.

Hubby and I shared everything. I wouldn’t be able to eat it all by myself.
