A friend from church picked me up close to noon to take me to another friend from church's house for Christmas "dinner". A young man who rents one of her rooms did most of the cooking, and everything was really good. Before we ate, we did a "white elephant" kind of game, only the hostess said that people had to look at what they got, describe it, and then people could decide if they wanted to trade. At first I recieved a red apron with gingerbread men on it, which was cute, but I don't cook much much less wear an apron, so I traded it with the hostess' grandson, who said he had a "book". That turned out to be a daily planner, along with a little square yellow purse with a smiley face on it. Those I'll either re-gift or try to sell. We each got an individual "goodie bag", too--I got a notebook with a lemon design on the cover, a real lemon, a smaller notebook with a little dog and Christmas trees on the cover, a package of Belvita bars, a little packet of tissues, and a couple of individually wrapped tea bags. I wound up with the tea bags the hostess' grandson got too, because he said, "What am I supposed to do with these?" (evidently, he's not a tea drinker). There was a lot of food left over, and our hostess said she'd probably bring it for the Wednesday night potluck we have at church. She also said that this year was probably the last time she'd have the Christmas get together. She's in her eighties, and the house was decorated very nicely, and I'm sure it was a lot of work. She also said she was going to give away a lot of her decorations, and I'm wondering if she'll bring things to church. I already have one of her paintings, but it would be nice to have something else to remember her by, too. Around 4 p.m. my friend who brought me drove me home, and now I'm here chatting with you folks. I hope that you all had a lovely morning/afternoon/evening/etc. in your part of myLot land!

I am glad you had a nice Christmas meal and day. My three year old great grand son is still here he fell asleep. His parents and mother in law went back to the hotel. He wanted to stay here so he will spend the night.
