Wanted - Dead or Alive

But it seems dead makes better headlines. "Dozens dead as passenger plane crashes in Kazakhstan" is what most headlines about the story read. I've only seen two agencies that stated "Dozens survive as passenger plane crashes in Kazakhstan" which, in my opinion, is the REAL story. People die in aircraft crashes all the time - not often do half of them survive. But stories about dead bodies sell better than stories about live bodies.

Amazing that some survived. You're right about the negative press. It sells better. Such a pity.

It is so sad when the worst case scenario seems to garner more attention than the actual truth. And to think that just yesterday we were discussing going away for Christmas next year, and flying, which I swore I would never do.

I bet the survivors care about it. The saying is something like "If it bleeds, it reads." justifying the sensationalism in the press.

That's true but I bet more people would like to read "good news" stories at this time of year.
