The service guy said that it would take about an hour and a half even if I need a new battery so I opted to wait instead of being driven back. No point unless it was going to take hours and hours. I almost brought a book but of course I didn’t. Stay tuned!

Always take a book. We had some repairs, non dealership and because our car is used some "amateur" had worked on it, and our mechanic said he just could not leave it. We spent about $450, but it was not for a battery. We get those done at the auto store whenever possible.

I wish you didn't have to get the battery at the dealership, they charge twice as much as if you go to the auto store and they put it in for you there. My friend just put a battery in her car. The dealership wanted $300 for it. O'Reilly's had the same battery and put it in for her, for $175. I hope you don't have to wait too long.

That’s what my ex said but I’d rather just get it done all in one shot

@NJChicaa There is just no way I can pay that much for a battery if there is another option, and it just takes like 5 minutes at those auto places--no waiting!

@MarieCoyle I wanted experts to look at it bc I didn’t know if having that awful interlock installed and removed had messed with wires, connections, etc. The guy just told me that they were recharging the battery so I won’t have to pay for a new one. I’m sure I’ll have to pay for the diagnosis and charging but that’s cheaper than $300

I take my IPad with me all the time. The dealership has free WiFi, so I’ll do some myLotting there. They also have a big indoor area where they park cars and have a small car museum (with an Edsel, no less, on display!), and I’ll get my walk in back there while I’m waiting. I used to walk across the street for lunch when there was a Logan’s Roadhouse there, but it’s been torn down for a Wawa’s. Hope it was quick.

Hope your wait isn't too long and the problem solved with it breaking the bank
