Abstract art is weird - Melbourne Airport

Melbourne airport carpet design

I was flying out of Melbourne last night and the carpet design got me laughing. It's some abstract shapes, but the designers clearly didn't think it through - making red splotches randomly on a blue background. It certainly looks like large pools of blood and blood stains on the carpet. I looked online and there were many jokes about this! I guess that's what happens when authorities spend large amounts of money to redesign something and don't think clearly. Someone's become rich by making Melbourne Airport look weird! What do you think this looks like?

The question is why the airport management chose that particular design?

Because that was the cheapest carpet the carpet company was selling at the time? Or they were giving a kickback if the airport bought it from them.

@DaddyEvil I will go for the second reason. That is usually a good reason to buy something like that

It looks like someone was trying to wash bloodstains out of the carpet but gave it up as a bad job.
