I did what youngsters today do dealing with family

I am talking about how I handled those 14 extended family members who came to visit me.
Most of them have not kept in touch with me for years. The natural thing would be to raise that issue. But I did not. I did what youngsters do. I entertained them as a group without bothering to find out anything about them which is what I normally do and in the process perhaps precipitate unpleasant situations.
From what I have noticed youngster are busy with their own life almost totally disconnected but if they decide to have a party many are invited and they have a ball.
Is it the right thing to do?

When I get to see someone after years there is the temptation to ask questions but I did not

for those that don't stay in touch or associate with you I
would do the same thing myself which is the reason
why we haven't called or wrote to ANY family members.
