A Rainy Soggy Saturday

It is still dark outside, but I can see that it is raining at a pretty good pace. It looks quite soggy outside, all of the snow has been washed away now. They have called for a windy and rainy day today. I have planned to go out and do some Boxing Day Sale shopping today. Rain or shine I am going, the sales are really great and they mark everything down so that they can bring in the spring line of clothing. Our Christmas tree is still up. Last evening I asked my husband when he would like to take it down, and he suggested New Years. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other, so we can keep it up until he decides otherwise. I ordered a robo vacuum on Boxing Day, the sale was too great to pass up. It should arrive next week-I don't pay extra for shipping and do not have a prime membership. So much for trying to hold out until my bonus is paid out in the new year.

My little Christmas tree will stay up until the Epiphany, as our local tradition. I bought nothing this year, I have already too much to move.

Ron treated me to a stand mixer. I had not had one, just a hand mixer. Today I used it to make 2 loaves. I made a cherry-pecan loaf and another one which was going to be a banana loaf, but I had some strawberries sliced up and some fresh blueberries that I added into the mix before they go bad. Otherwise all of our gifts have been put away now.

@Juliaacv - I will buy a few things after we are in our new place in Italy. I know that some of my appliances will need to be replaced, the plugs are different in Italy.

Pretty drippy here today too. Tomorrow will be worse. I got a few ornaments (just what I need)and some holiday themed body wash yesterday

It stopped raining this morning before I went out, and the sun came out bright and clear. Before I made it back home again, the sun hid behind the clouds, but we haven't had any more rain. I am trying to down size on my decorations, of course that is hard to do. When the pre lit bulbs on this tree go, we will get a shorter tree and then give away some of the ornaments. But right now it still works, so it stays.

They continue these sales until the end of the month/year. Most things are very picked over, so it will be a scavenger hunt type of shopping trip.

What was on sale was picked over. I asked the sales girl if she could order it for me online, as I have done that in the past. She told me to continue shopping and never came back. I asked the other sales girl about it, and she showed me what I wanted that was on sale. So I did get what I needed.

@wolfgirl569 I did, and I don't think that I told you, but I ordered my robo vacuum. I went for one that does the carpeting and flooring, not the mopping. I can handle doing the mopping, it isn't as bad on my back as pushing the vacuum is. It should arrive next week.

I always waited until New Years to take my Christmas decorations down. Mostly because I just loved holiday decorations. Hopefully, you had a great day, and stayed dry.

I think that today will be the wetter day of the weekend. Yesterday by the time that the sun came out it was bright and sunny, but windy. This weekend we have been searching online for a cottage resort to book for our holidays in July. We are not doing so great, most places require a week's rental, but we prefer just half a week. Our search continues.

I would be really surprised if it does. There are never updates on the weekends, but come Monday I should have an update. It is coming from Alberta, so it is crossing the country.

That was what it looked like here this morning also. But the sun came out bright around 8am and it was such a mild day today. On your scale it was near 60F which is crazy for this time of the year on Canada.

I got some Christmas gift tags, which I was looking for, but wasn't able to locate any ribbon for gift wrapping, that was on my list too. Now I am staying out of the stores until the new year.
