It is an ugly rainy yet warm day here at the Jersey Shore. I am busy in the kitchen!
I am currently working on a pot of beef bourguignon. I was going to cheat and only marinate the beef for 4 hours but then decided to do the right thing and marinate it overnight. Soooooooo the veg is currently cooking and then I'll add the meat, stock, and reserved wine marinade. It takes 2 hours in the oven after that.
I also have egg whites to deal with so I'm going to make Bravetart's angel food cake. I'm going to use that to make a trifle since I have strawberries and heavy cream to deal with. I actually already made Bravetart's vanilla pudding last night so I'm like 1/4 of the way there on that.
After that I am going to do Alton Brown's French onion soup. I totally love it though I do use less apple cider than called for because I don't want it to be super-sweet. Easy to do though it does take time to caramelize 4 pounds of sliced onions. Man my Le Creuset Dutch Oven is going to get a workout today!
If I still have the motivation/energy after all of that I'm going to mix up a batch of bread dough from the Flour Water Salt Yeast baking book. That takes overnight to ferment and rise so I won't have to actually deal with baking it until tomorrow. We shall see!

Don't you have the energy to burn?
I had some fruit-bananas, strawberries and blueberries that I didn't want to go bad, so put them into a banana walnut loaf and it is in the oven. Tutti fruity is what it will be like I suppose, but I will not waste food, and fresh fruit is so expensive.
I also have a cherry-pecan loaf in the oven.
Another 10 minutes and they should both be done.
Good luck with your kitchen projects today.

Sounds like quite a few projects. The beef will be soooo good. I'm not an onion fan; but I do like French onion soup. Have a good day.
