That Day

My eldest brother had bought me a airgun. I was just 12 then. One day I saw two sparrows playing or quarreling with each other atop a house. I shot at them and one of them fell down.The other flew away. As the bird fell down a little away my feet ; a deep sense of guiltiness set in my heart. I ran away without casting a glance on the dead sparrow. That was the day when I promised not to kill any creature in future. Still the chirping of those two sparrows reverberates in my ears.

You are right. I regret what I did that day years ago.I didn't think what I was going to do and what it meant. Just aimed at the sparrows and pulled the trigger. Thanks for responding. Why are you not initiating any new discussion??

What I did was actually a sin. I had no right to kill the little sparrow. I heartily regret it. I still feel myself guilty whenever I remember that incident.

Thanks; my friend. Really it was an invaluable lesson I learned that day. Live and let live. I still regret what I did that day. As human beings we must be kind to others; especially to those who are weak and helpless. Thanks again.....and again.
