Now that we are in the New Year calendard are doing the rounds We get them too But it is nost like the good old years when we just waitied for someone to gift them They are mostly printed by companies as a way to advertise their products. Some have great pictures like the ones my company - A swiss one - had all 12 with mountain scenes There was this liquor baron who had semi nude models on his calendar. Then there are that have flowers, animals, religious the works. Many are sold and there are buyers. Sadly calendars do not imppress me any more. I just do not keep them. What about you?

I remember those old company calendars . . . not all had good themes, but they were good enough - and they were for free. It's rare companies spend on those kinds of promotional items anymore. Now people can buy calendars from even the cheapest stores - or buy nice, expensive ones with the theme of their exact liking. I go somewhere in the middle - this year we have flower themed one.

My dad got me a Golden Girls calendar (a 1980s sitcom about women in their 50s), which I asked for. Also, my friend from Germany sent me a calendar from her country. It has magnificent pictures of local places.

I had cherished that Swiss calendars for years and as years went by lost interest. You are right some calendars are worth preserving
