Hit Burnout last week and hoping for a better next year

Hey Mylotters, sorry again I was absent for the past week. Once again, I had gotten sick with an acute viral infection, and that lead me having burnout from work for a few days. I'm still slowly recovering from it, which would take some time. I hope to leave within a month from her for my 2-year anniversary. It all depends on two factors: my late father's death benefit money to kick one with a rollover state. It would perhaps happen next month if it arrives this weekend. When I called SSA two weeks ago, they said they're still processing, and I should get something in the mail by the end of the year (which had expired today), and the start of the new year, (somewhere between Thursday and next Tuesday). I normally get my SSA benefits on the 3rd of the money, and paid earlier with Huntington, a few days earlier. So my start date would be next month like February 3rd, which would correspond with my next meeting with Raenell and Danielle in 50 days. But then again, when I receive word in mail, I would have to let Danielle and Raenell know, and then have my Benefit Analysis report done sometime in January, and the 10-page report in February. And this would be the deciding factor, if I can work or not with the new money.
Then, the other factor, would be getting a job offer to seal the deal, though my job search had been slowed down since October to keep my case open. I did have a phone interview with my local library two weeks ago for the circulation clerk position. It would be perfect for me, though it's less pay and more hours, which would be okay with the benefit money. Otherwise, it would less more pay and less hours (15 hours max), which I've been doing at Goodwill for a month now, before new management took over. That was my last job and interview I had for 2024. And I'll do a new round with Danielle next week, which we wait. All I know, when I checked in with the library last week, they said the adult librarian position is filled, but they're undecided on the two circulation clerk positions, still going through resumes and phone interviews. I never had that response before and not sure what it means. Something has got to give.
As for Mellow, I did get a call from the shelter last week on Mellow, and found out why he was returned from his owner: he and another cat didn't like babies or little kids, when it's the owners or company. And that's why they urinated outside the box. So I told this to my brother and reconsidered him. But since I was sick, I wasn't able to get him. He was adopted with another cat almost a week ago. I still have 7 cats on my shortlist (out of original 13) left to consider when I return to the shelter next week to restart the process. I might have to add new cats and then prepare to adopt cat two by the end of January if not earlier. Maybe the second time is the charm this time around.
I'll do some major catch up posting and commenting tomorrow, and this weekend. Happy new year friends. I'm looking forward to saying goodbye to 2024 and hello 2025.

I know the feeling. I do hope next year proves to be even better than this.
