Are you going to stay awake until midnight, so you can celebrate? Wait. Did you stay awake until midnight, so you could celebrate?

It's 7:30 PM here. I am celebrating the passing of 2024 with some sushi and pretend miso soup (chicken broth). Also a lighted candle. Are you going to stay awake until Midnight? I am not. I am going to enjoy my solitude with Kitty, and head to bed when I want to. I have not yet heard any fireworks here. I do not know if any will occur. How are things where you live? Happy 2025.

I hope you enjoy Midnight. Something just went boom. It's after 8 PM. I blew out my candle and am off to bed.

I am almost always awake at midnight, I am sure tonight will be no different. It's only 10:05PM here, so I have a while before 2025 hits.

I went to bed at ten and did not hear any fireworks. Maybe my neighbors did not have any, or I was just that sound asleep.

The city is still doing work on the pipes under the yards and street here. The work is noisy so I couldn't sleep all day. They continued to work well after dark. I finally fell asleep at 8 pm and slept until 3 am when I had to use the bathroom. I hope you slept well and didn't wake up for fireworks. Happy 2025 to you and Kitty!

@TheHorse I'm glad you were able to fall back asleep. I can't always do that.

The fireworks occurred, but they didn't last long. I rolled over and fell back asleep.

Yes we did, although it wasn't such a special occasion as it used to be when I was young because nowadays I'm often just going to bed at around midnight anyway. Happy new year!

All I will say is hell no. New Year's is overrated. The shows are all dumb and corny. I extend my bah humbug until the morning of the 1st and then just return to being a regular a$$hole. Happy New Year.

I guess most people would stay awake to have the first few minutes of New Year. It has been a thing for some years for me. I did stay awake upto 2 am on New Year Eve. I was planning upto 1 am but got extended and did not feel sleepy till 2 am. Had some snacks and just spent time on internet. Usually I spend the New Year in front of tv, decided to do otherwise. Well, 2024 was some eventful year for me. There are things which worked for me and there are things which did not work for me. Hope 2025 is a better year for all of us compared to 2024. Hope the Sushi and things was great for you. Enjoy the time!
