79 days until spring. We are under a Lake Effect Snow Warning for today (1/1) and tomorrow. Supposedly there will be a Polar Vortex for next week.
Wishing you and yours a safe, happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. I don't know where 2024 went; but I'm hoping that 2025 is better for all of us. Today (1/1) marks 11 months that my husband has been gone. Sad.
Avian (bird) flu was found in Phoenix, Surprise and Tempe, Arizona wastewater. The Maricopa County Department of Public Health says the risk to humans is low.
My husband's 2nd cousin won't be coming today to make the pork roast dinner. With the bad weather pending, we decided to wait.
Did you stay up and watch the ball drop last night? I was up but missed the ball drop.
Breakfast - Pop Tarts
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Chicken breast, squash, broccoli, pears
Dessert/Snack - Lemon muffin
Dinner - Turkey/provolone sandwich and chips

No, I didn't stay up to watch the ball drop. The city is still doing work on the pipes under our yard and street. The machinery is loud so I couldn't sleep all day. I finally fell asleep around 8 pm when the workers called it a day and stopped making noise. (They were using the headlights on their work vehicles to be able to see what they were doing.) I slept until almost 3 am when I woke up to use the bathroom and am now catching up with people on myLot.

@daddyevil I was awake when the ball must have dropped but I didn’t care to watch it. My little one had just fallen asleep about 10 minutes prior to the ball drop but she had no idea it was New Year’s Eve anyway.

@shaggin Pretty told me that people in our neighborhood were shooting off fireworks but I didn't hear any of them.
I normally sleep between 6 pm and 10 pm and am awake most of the night but was just too tired after being awake all day.

@MarieCoyle yes, I got a small one with no temp control but when you turn it on it acts like a real turbo and things cook up real fast, Makes pancakes too but then I have to stand by,

We did watch the ball drop. I was wondering how long it would take them to pick up all the confetti.We had crab dip, and sliders for our New Years supper and some apple slices and canoli dip later.

I was up at midnight, but I was reading something.
Chicken & cheese baked potato for lunch; Boca burger for dinner. Fiber, banana, and yogurt. And watered-down tea. (Doing all the things I normally have to do when my stomach starts acting up.)

i stayed up until midnight, then enduring noise from fireworks and that was it. 00:30, i was already in bed. i'm sorry the weather is not on your side. here, it's foggy for 2 days straight, awful. i ate some french toast with salami and cheese.
