Maybe Some Overseeding Today

I waited too long. Or at least, longer than usual to overseed, but I generally do it every year, and for whatever reason, the front yard needs it badly this year. I did get some grass seed recently since I was plum out of it, it's supposed to get gotawful cold in the coming days, so I might just go out there and do it today.
I just do it by hand and toss the grass seed around, so I don't need any special equipment to get it done, and it won't really take much time at all.
Other than that, I am not sure there are any special plans for today, but who knows? The wife may change that up for me.

you waited WAY to late to put grass seeds down
you should have done it back in June or at the LATEST
August to give it a chance to germinate & start growing.

I know this. lol. But it WILL germinate in the spring, and I usually don't start cutting until around April, depending on the weather and how much it starts to grow after it comes out of dormancy.
I will admit, I MAY have screwed myself, though. lol

@porwest " it WILL germinate in the spring" if the birds haven't eaten it all.

It is supposed to get really cold here also, which I hate, but do your grassseed, and enjoy your day.

Personally, I try to discourage the grass as much as possible.

We have s**w on the ground and the plow guy has gutted our gravel drive AND there are deep tire grooves in the mud. Our yard is a mess. Good luck getting your seed spread. Have a good day.

@porwest Yeah, it's probably best to wait. The animals for sure would have a field day.

@LindaOHio At my expense. Not having it. Grass seed is expensive. lol

I actually decided not to do it. 1) it won't germinate. 2) the birds, chipmunks and squirrels will probably eat it before it gets a chance to germinate. I just waited too long, so now I'll put it down a month or so before my first cut and keep my fingers crossed. lol. As for snow, we probably have some coming our way with a winter storm brewing. NOT looking forward to it.

It's below freezing here and nothing will tempt me outside today. (The high might reach freezing... Too cold for me!)
I was always told to spread grass seed before a snow so it will get taken into the ground as the snow melts. As long as the birds don't eat all the seed, it should work okay.
Have a good day.
