If you know Glenn McCoy, he's a cartoonist most well-known for The Flying McCoy's cartoons he did with his brother, Gary. He's got quite the sense of humor. I used to enjoy his conservative political cartoons, but he stopped doing those once be began working on the Minions for Pixar. I think it was in his contract or something, and they paid him well enough over at Pixar to convince him.
Incidentally, if you wanted to know, his brother, Kent, is my accountant. He's much drier than his brothers, for sure, and it's clear he didn't get the funny bone.
His latest cartoon sends off 2024, I happen to think, in perfect order. Don't you agree?

We all say that about the previous year. One of the popular memes on Facebook was that 2024 was “written by Stephen King, directed by Quinton Tarantino, and soundtrack by Yoko Ono.” I’ve seen that every year since 2020. I can’t be responsible for the external things in the world, so I just focus on making my little corner of the planet as good as possible, and it was pretty good last year.

My personal circumstances were good as well. At the same time, I do want everyone to succeed and prosper. My world is better when those within it around me do better. It's like being on a highway full of bad drivers. I may drive well, but if I have to constantly dodge bad drivers, I'm bound to run into a problem despite my best efforts.

Oh, I don't know... There was cake and cookies, even some cheesecake, so it wasn't all bad.

It’s funny that we always seem to be eager to get rid of the current year in the hopes that the next year will be better. I happen to think that 2024 was a great year, and hated to see it go.

Perhaps it's just human nature. We have hope when something is new and fresh, and disdain when it's old and worn out. lol
My 2024 was technically not bad either. But there were some outside hurdles to contend with I wish I didn't have to. That being said, I tend to do my best to create my own existence and world within it.

2024 was definitely not a good year for me and my husband. Have a good day.

@LindaOHio There's a saying I heard somewhere once that said, "If your glass is always half empty no matter what you do, go and get a glass half the size of the one you have now, and it will always be full."
