Very weird, indeed.
I mean...how can that be a coincidence? I suppose it's possible, but with Musk in the picture with Trump on a daily basis, it seems unlikely.
I guess time will tell. Someone died, and many were hurt. We are not starting out the New Year on a good note this year.

It is. I can see the truck, or any vehicle, can explode or catch fire, those things happen. But the location of the incident seems to make this very concerning.

I know.
I was sitting here, watching news, and I saw this...and I thought to myself, when did we get to the point that we are actually wondering how long we have between these horrific and deadly incidents.
The other day, I was driving home from my son's transfusion, and the highway froze quickly as it was wet from the all day rain. It was pretty slippery, so the trip was slow...and I was being very careful. I pulled in to the garage, and my son said, ''home safely''...and then he stopped and said, ''no one is really safe, not now, there is too much going on''...in this, he is correct. All we can do is the best we can do.

How very sad.
Your son's words really ring true, sadly.
I wonder if these 2 incidents within a number of hours, have anything to do with the hatred that Trump has put out and is coming back.
Someone needs to muzzle him before more innocent lives are lost.

@MarieCoyle Oh I hate to read this.
The hate is directly sent out from Trump, as I noticed that when he was in office before.
And for the most part, the Americans that I converse with here, are good and kind people.
You, and they, deserve to live in safety.
I am so sorry that it is not that way right now.
I hope that you, and many others, can settle down and somehow believe that tomorrow will be better and get a good night's sleep and wake up to spread kindness.

It was discussed on the news that the two incidents may be related. Both the cyber truck and the pickup truck used in these incidents were rented from the same company. Could be coincidental, but??
And yes, the hate in our country is terrifying.

Sadly, the hate is anywhere and everywhere. Amazingly, during the Presidential campaign here in the US, signs in yards or bumper stickers on cars were very, very few and far between. Put the wrong one on your vehicle, and it's a guarantee someone won't like your choice and trash your car. Freedom of speech? Yes, but it does come at a price.
Some of us do try to spread kindness. There are still many good people here in our country, but it's the bad ones that make the headlines. When lives are destroyed, it makes the news.

I honestly fear for our country. These tragedies take lives, and lives matter very much.

@MarieCoyle It solves nothing of course. But until we really want to know WHY these things happen in the first place, we'll never be able to stop it.

I don’t think our world needs this kind of activity. And what does it solve? Someone kills a bunch of people and then either kills themself if gets shot by police.

Of course we all want to know why. I do. Sadly, in many cases it appears that the person causing the deaths and injuries of others is mentally ill in some way. Not always, but fairly often.
