Happy 2025!

I've heard that whatever you do on the first day of a new year is what you'll do the rest of the year. If that's true, here's what I've done today. Cooked breakfast Cooked dinner (I'm not superstitious, but I did cook a pot of black eyed peas) Loaded the dishwasher, washed and dried a load of clothes. Wrote in my journal....haven't read my Bible yet. Vacuumed the living room. Contemplated taking down the Christmas tree (one day soon, I promise.) I just love the lights in the room. Dale's gone deer hunting...last day of the year for hunting until next fall. So, that's my exciting New Year's Day. Hope yours was a little more fun!

My New Year's Day was very quiet and lonely. My husband's 2nd cousin was supposed to come and make the traditional pork roast and sauerkraut dinner; but the weather forecast was quite grim. She will be coming today. Have a good day.

I am doing the best I can to enjoy this year despite the tragic events that happened overnight in New Orleans even though Lake Charles is around 206 miles west of the Crescent City area.

That was so tragic for those who lost their lives and their families. I pray the ones who got hurt will recover. Glad you hadn't gone there for the celebration.

@snowy22315 It is very shocking to learn that a terror act happened at New Year's day overnight.

@1creekgirl thank you very much. Probably not likely I’ve always been quite a worrier.

@shaggin I could be a really big worrier if I'm not careful. I have to remind myself of so many Bible verses about giving my worries to God.

I left early this morning to go to my sister’s family since we couldn’t see them for Christmas due to the kids being sick. It was a really enjoyable visit. I didn’t want to leave.
