He made a "roulade of beef" as the cookbook called it. It is pretty much the same as a German Rouladen. I made the gravy.
We ate red cabbage and whole berry cranberry sauce with it, plus a baked potato.
I am early putting Christmas away this year, but it feels right to have some things all tidy.I have enjoyed taking it easy on this break.
I may try a new "no bake" cookie tomorrow, we will just have to see. I have all the ingredients.
I have found some missing items while emptying laundry baskets of clean clothes. That feels good as well.
If I do not make it back later, have a good evening. First day of a new year.

Yeah, that's true. It is. And I still have things to do. I just am having trouble bringing myself doing them.

@snowy22315 The roads are all snow packed again. We had just gotten our van out of the driveway to the street. We went to pick up Bob's med and a storm hit again. We are snow covered again.

January 1 was a day off for most people. I think mostly essential workers and some retail worked.

@GardenGerty I don't think I have ever seen it on the menu anywhere I've been. I'd order it for sure, but it is so easy to make at home. I use round steak for mine.

@porwest Yes, this was thinly slice round steak. I actually had it in Minneapolis, when I went out with a former myLot friend and his wife, while visiting my daughter and her family. It was at a German Restaurant. Not too many of those around here, except for Mennonite German, and it is not the same.
