Most people wouldn't think of a Bad Santa case as the perfect Christmas gift. Then again, Molly Malone, office manager at Hunt Investigations, isn't most people, and she could really use a distraction from the fantasies she's been having since spending the night with her very secret crush, Lucas Knight. Nothing happened, not that Lucas knows that - but Molly just wants to enjoy being a little naughty for once... Whiskey and pain meds for almost-healed bullet wounds don't mix. Lucas needs to remember that next time he's shot on the job, which may be sooner rather than later if Molly's brother, Joe, finds out about them. Lucas can't believe he's drawing a blank on his (supposedly) passionate tryst with Molly, whose the hottest, smartest, strongest woman he's ever known. Strong enough to kick his butt if she discovers he's been assigned to babysit her on her first case. And hot enough to melt his cold heart this Christmas. ~~~~ I was expecting a quaint holiday read with a little steam, I was NOT expecting a full out romantic suspense novel. I love romance, I love suspense. The combination of the two is exciting. This book was exciting. Molly is a slightly handicapped lady but she is one very strong woman. And Lucas is hot and fit hunk of a man. They work in the same office, but Molly was a mere secretary yearning to do more. Lucas was ordered to "babysit" her, but he already had feelings for her; there was more than just an investigation going on. Neither was interested in relationships but knew they were falling for each other. It all came to head with a case filled with tension and suspense, with bad guys and guns, and Molly coming to the rescue of Lucas when it should have been the other way around. This story had all the feels. And I shed a couple of tears. I picked it up as a holiday read after it sat on my shelf for more than a year. I had no idea there was suspense in it. So that was a pleasant surprise for me. And there was steam. And I loved it. I'm not sure what number this is of my holiday reads that I am picking blindly from a jar. I think it's number 3.

Especially when said woman has a permanent injury. She shows that her disability does not define her.
