Which is better approach on Mylot: Creating discussion initially or engaging in a few before starting your own?

2025 is here and hopefully we will see more mylotters returning, joining and being active. Plus, a lot more discussions than what we had in 2024.
I have been thinking about my approach on Mylot. Usually, I engage with a few discussions myself and respond to the comments of previous discussions I created and then I create a new discussion. One of the obvious reasons is to avoid any discussion which is similar to what I have. There were few times I have seen discussions centred on the idea I had for the day. So, I prefer to graze through the discussions and then put my topic on the board. However, I feel that the approach can hurt my engagement ratio. Just a gut feeling.
So, what’s you take on the better approach on Mylot: Creating discussion initially or engaging in a few before starting your own?

I don't know that there is a "best" way to myLot. We all have our own way of engaging with others here. When someone asks me how to make money here, I tell them to write a discussion when they come onto myLot and then talk to people in the discussions they find interesting and talk with people in the discussion they first posted. Before they leave myLot for the day, if you can think of a second topic, write another discussion.
Of course, if you look at my own activity, you'll see I don't write discussions anymore. I never liked writing new discussions but do like engaging with people in the discussions they've written. (Do you know the saying "Do as I say, not as I do." in your country? )

Well, the important thing is getting engaged with other mylotters and that would be the key. Thanks for pointing that out!

@RevivedWarrior Yes, that's the main thing about myLot... capturing the attention of the other myLotters and talking with them.
Have I mentioned I'm glad you're on myLot? It's nice to have people to talk with here.

You create a discussion when something strikes your fancy to create one. At least for me that's the case. Obviously, from an earnings standpoint, interaction is key, so I think there's more importance in engaging with other people's discussions than creating them. At the same time, if we don't create new discussions, there's nothing to engage with. lol

@RevivedWarrior I try to make any discussion engaging in some way. Even if I am writing about something silly or stupid. Who knows if I succeed, but I do try.

You are right about creating discussion. There is no point in creating discussion without any thoughts. Plus be it discussions or otherwise , we should have engaging content. Thanks for sharing the same!

I like your way of doing things on Mylot. For me, I start with notifications, returning the comments that were left since my last visit, then I go to recent discussions and look at them and answer those. After that, I usually start my own discussion. But I think your way is a very good one, and smart.

Yours is very much similar to fine. I did notice that only some respond to the comments in their own discussions. I value all the people I interact here in mylot and so do best of my abilities . Thanks for sharing!

Well, sometimes having no strategy is the best strategy. Come to mylot with free mind and do things. Thats something I like as well. Thanks for sharing!

I don't have a set way of myLotting. I'm usually here in the mornings . Most days I'll post a discussion but other days I just interact. I try to keep up with notifications but sometimes they slip by due to either distractions or just a time thing.

Well, thats a good approach. I do agree that all discussion topics have the same theme , the thoughts and summary could be different. Thanks for sharing!

I usually read and respond to new discussions written by those I'm following. Then I go to the notifications. I try to post two discussions most days, about different subjects. Because my time zone is so different to most members', I don't pay much attention to when I put up a new discussion. Those who follow me seem to find it at some point.
I think your method sounds fine. What works for one doesn't always work for anothef.
