1/2/25 - Update On My Husband

I called the nurses' station and my husband happened to be right there in a wheelchair; so she gave him the phone. He was hard to hear and understand. He gets like that sometimes. We had a very short conversation; but at least I got to talk to him.
Hopefully the social worker will be back from vacation today; and I can get the answers I need. I will also check with the business office about the increase in room rate.
His 2nd cousin is coming over to make our belated New Year's Day dinner if the s**w isn't too bad. She will be working on my to-do list while the pork roast cooks.
Thank you for your continued prayers, support and thoughts.

I am sorry that it was a difficult and short conversation on the phone with him, but I know that you needed to hear his voice, and I am thankful that you had that.
His cousin is really doing a wonderful job in looking in and helping you and pampering you to some good home cooking and company. That is such a blessing.

Calls are so few and far between that I'll take anything I can get!!! Yes, she does so much for me. I am paying her now like I was with her daughter.

We have a standby generator. It goes on automatically if the power goes out.

Yes, he stopped calling me every day. I think it's his confusion.

Sometimes those phones don't work as well as they should. But, at least you know that he's not being entirely negelected. He might not be asking to get up as often. It can happen. Let's face it, he's not motivated to be active. It's not an easy process for sure. And, most places will leave a person alone as long as they are dry and clean.

@LindaOHio Well with a smart phone, you don't have to. I just have to get George to use flat fingers when he uses his phone.

We’re supposed to get sn*w as well. Glad you got to talk to him for a few minutes. I’m also glad to hear that he was out of the bed.

Glad you got to talk to him, I wish the best for you both in this new year and many blessings, I like that he was in a wheelchair and out and about instead of just lying in bed,

At least you got to hear his voice and talk to him a little. That’s better than not hearing from him at all.
