Good predictable afternoon.

As expected, George and I slept in late so now I'm here. I'm tired as is George. Around 8:30 this morning the va called to schedule a test. One they want to do in the morning, knowing full-well it's hard to get George up in the morning and moving. And, we have to do it with him fasting which is harder to do. Thank god I'm not the one to fast, but Getting George to do so is the real challenge because he's going to want pain medicine, he's going to want other things as well. And of course, their first avaible appoitment for that is...two months from now. Nice. I swear, the VA runs on it's own schedule.

No. When he's fasting he can't have anything to eat or drink for eight hours prior. So that means I can't give him pain meds if it's within that eight hour window.

Many times you can have enough water to take pills. Ask them about that.

Well, his blood thinner is time sensitive, and they want him there in the window He needs to take it. Now there's nother problem with George and pills in general. In order to take them oreally I need to put them in food or he needs to drink a simi-thick liquid or they'll just sit in his throat. And, I don't know if it's safe to crush it and put it down his tube, because I was told by a nurse I shouldn't. So, I'll have to ask someone what I should do. Because I don't want him to miss a dose because of how sensetive it is and the narrow index is.

@wolfgirl569 Yeah, I know. It's getting him to eat it that's another issue. He'd much rather skip his pills then eat something he doesn't like. I'll need to find out what the safe option is. The easy option would be to crush and desolve the pill and shove it down his peg tube. The bright side, I have time to find out before the big day. Getting there on time will be another issue in and of itself. We don't live that far from the Daytona location, but when you're arranging a ride and it takes twenty minutes to get dressed and use the bathroom, that's hard. Then we don't know how long it'll take for him to get around the facility itself. It's a lot of moving parts. Not just fasting I have to worry about.

@kaylachan Ask so you know. They might even say a bite of applesauce will be ok

It'll be a fun challenge getting him to go outside or get up and move. He just woke up from a nap and the sun is fixing to set. Plus I need to flush his tube. And I forrgot to call the Va because of course I did. And I was to tired to ask to be transftered to talk to the nutrionist because damn it my phone woke me.

@RasmaSandra I'm not surprised George wants nothing to do with moving. Yesterday had been a rough one.

Yeah. He wants his tube out, but we need to make sure the stroke didn't destroy his stomach. In order to do that, we need a test done. Fine. Well, guess what, the first one is in march. Its.... january.
