Since, I didn't feel like trudging around Walmart yesterday, I went to Kroger after I did my mystery shop. I only planned on getting 2 or 3 things, but you know how it is, when you start walking around you always think of more things. Anyway, my arms were full and I still wanted to buy two more things, so I thought I better get a small cart. I happened on one in the pharmacy aisle, I thought dandy. Actually, it could have belonged to the woman stacking the shelves there, but it was empty, and she didn't say anything when I took it. I suppose a nicer person would have asked if it was hers, before I confiscated it..but oh well. I am not always the nicest..
So, I realized after a few steps the cart was wonky,,,and basically rolled alright, but was making this flapping. bumping noise. It was rather loud, I was thinking everyone was wondering..what is that noise, and then I roll up, bumping and flapping away, however, it was either use that or have to run to the front of the store for another cart. I guess someone discarded it because it was wonky. Have you had a bad shopping cart at some point?

Oh yah - there are some stores that I just know have bad carts in general . . . have to check these things as I get one. I used to get so embarrassed with those noisy carts - but I don't care so much anymore as long as the cart is rolling ok. It almost acts like a horn to tell folks to get out of my way .

That was an annoying cart.
I've had carts like that too.
We have to get our cart outside and roll it into the store after putting in our quarter, and you don't realize that it is a bad one until you get into the store and start out on the even flooring. By then it is too late.

@Juliaacv I went to use the restroom in that ßtore and their was a sign, had to have been directed at the employees that said take off apron or smock before entering. I thought that was rather odd Is that really that much of a problem?

@snowy22315 The Loblaws chain has some carts here with some sort of a theft deterrent disc on them and when loss prevention sees something happening from the cameras, they send a signal for the wheels to all lock. I hate being thought of as a thief, and I do not shop there as much as I used to because of that.

I was reading your post, and just burst out laughing. I was picturing you, plowing through such a loud moment, determined to just get ‘er done. I’ve done it myself once or twice when the wonky cart was the only one available. I walk around sheepishly, trying to disappear. Which is very hard for a 5’11 woman to do, with or without a weird cart.

In the past I have dealt with defective shopping carts at supermarkets in Lake Charles last year.
