Trump is pissed that flags will be half-staff for Jimmy Carter for his inauguration

What a gross, heartless, and petty man. I mean we all knew that already but seriously? An amazing human being and former president has died at the age of 100. Flags will be flown at government buildings at half-staff for 30 days after Carter's death which means that they will be so on January 20 when Trump is inaugurated as president yet again. He is flipping out on his failing social media site about that fact. Instead of honoring and respecting the man, the office, his legacy, etc. he is upset about the optics of flags being half-staff. He is also so ignorant that he is saying they will be "half-mast" which applies to vessels in the sea but not buildings on land. You'd think a former president would know the difference but, well, it is Trump. Yet one more example of what type of human Trump is and the MAGA cult loves him for it. Gross.

You aren't really surprised by the pettiness involved in his reaction, are you? He is pettiness personified.

I didn't know about half-mast and half-stuff. Must tell Vince. I don't think he knows either. Bet you a dollar he goes straight off and checks.

@NJChicaa Sure enough, he checked immediately and decided the terms are mostly used in America. When we had a flagpole, we would get notifications about changes and the mentions were always 'half-mast' which I guess explains why we've never heard of 'half-staff'.

I tend to take this kind of media with a grain of salt. But I kind of sort of understand. I mean as a President Carter was considered so bad he didn't bother for a second term. And his efforts were only nte-worthy after he handed over the ovel office. Secondly, the timing isn't something anyone could've controlled. But Inigeration day should be a day of celebration, and it's sad that it's mared with grief. So on that front, I do understand. He just doesn't handle things as he should.

It isn't media. Trump literally posted it on his social media site.

@NJChicaa I'd still take it with a grain of salt. You literally don't know who's posting what, and where. Varfied accounts used to mean something, but now they're somewhat of a joke.

The guy has not class at all, this is just another example. I cannot help but to remember how his previous residency he wanted to build a wall on our border, yet this time around he refers to us as the 51st state-is he freaking bi-polar or just overall ignorant. I guess both would/could be accurate. I cannot begin to tell you how many residents call the bank every day to inquire about setting up bank accounts in Canada as they are relocating here-and I believe it id due to him. It makes me feel sorry for those that have to endure his insanity.
