January Cold

Happy Saturday myLot. 
It is a bone-chilling -8C day here today.
It is actually colder with the wind chill factor, as it is a bit windy outside today.
I was up and out the door a little later than I usually am for my groceries. I just did not want to step outside in that cold air. And apparently I wasn't alone, as there were very few cars in the parking lot and not alot of shoppers in the store. Just the way that I prefer it.
I had a bit of time this morning, and thought of my co-workers today. I know that they are forecasting another busy week ahead, so I logged in and did a couple of hours of work to help out. I will save the extra pay in a special account as we are planning on going away with our son and his family next December.
This afternoon I would like to start one of the novels that I received as a Christmas gift. It seems like the perfect day to curl up with a good book.

@kaylachan Actually I got a really good price on the one that I got.
I have been researching and pricing them for about 6 months now and when I saw the Boxing Day sale I decided to buy it a few weeks earlier than I originally planned because of the savings.
I am glad that I bought it.
When you consider the time that it saves you the cost can be justified.

It got down to 13 degrees (F) last night, but is hovering around 32 degrees right now. I’m just trying to stay inside and catch up to all the discussions I’ve missed the last four days. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow, and I do not relish getting out in this. I need to invest in one of those heated coats. I bought a heated scarf for my stepmom a few years ago, and that seemed to be effective.
I’m looking forward to your trip, and I’m not the one going!

Every time I think of Canada during winter I picture it freezing cold under a constant threat of snow. I think I must get that from television.

I am relieved to see you back again, I have been worried, and praying for you.
I remember when you got Diana the heated scarf.
I have 2 winter coats, one for everyday, that is warm, but not hot if I am shopping with it on, and then I have a nice dress parka coat. It is longer and it is super warm, I haven't worn it yet.

@AmbiePam No, it isn't so bad from what I am reading on here and seeing on the news.
It is around the freezing mark, and we are getting big fluffy flakes of snow, it actually looks really pretty.
We've had cold blowing snow, but this isn't that.
And there is an indescribable hush that blankets the area when you have this kind of snow, I love that.

I finished my report and sent it off so that was good. I worked on the snowblower but I noticed friend made mistakes in the part he did which I will have to undo. He also put a pin the wrong place. I can't get it out, but I will have to try. I won't give him a hard time about it even though I would like to. He tried, And his intentions were good. However it helps to look at the directions!

@Juliaacv Maybe but I hoped to get this thing going now, so I could use it with the big storm..however, it is kind of debatable how much snow we will have, but I have to think we are going to have a decent total if it is going to snow for 16 hours...

We are in for even colder weather than now.The forecast says the temperature will drop by 10C.

@LindaOHio Oh, I just replied to a comment of yours with the same thing.
If he could see a happy picture of the 2 of you then he would be able to focus his thoughts on something else.
They made a board up for my brother-in-law when he was in a home, but his eyesight had failed so much that he couldn't see as it was too busy. But the sound of your voice or the touch of your hand, or the taste of a treat that certain family members would bring, always brought his memory back quickly.

My day was good.. It's past midnight.. I am awake watching some series and mylotting. It was a good day and I could catch up things in online space after a long time.
I would love to snuggle in my warm blanket and read in such cold weather. I hope that you enjoy this novel

novel is a great gift, enjoy reading. we had -3C on saturday, pretty cold for me therefore, i understand you not feeling going out when it was -8C. my sister came from the shopping trip and i waited for her on a bus station, that was my highlight.
