Wheee! I did something right the other day!

I heard my engine going click click click as I was driving the other day. "Valve lifters," I thought.
I am good with vintage electronics. But I am NOT a car person. Cars were NOT a thing when I was in high school, because I went to high school in inner-city Chicago, and most of us did not have cars.
But somehow I learned, over the years, that a click click click sound means noisy valve lifters.
I had half a quart of oil in the bed of my truck (in its bottle ), so I topped off my oil.
Wheee! Problem solved!
Only later did I actually check my oil. I'm still a bit low. I will add a quart later today.
I also went to a "motor head" website and confirmed that many things can cause noise valve lifters, but that the first thing to do is check/top off your oil.
Have you "solved" any minor problems recently?

I really should have someone help me check the fluids in our van since it's been sitting idol for almost a year. I'm glad you posted this.

@TheHorse I should have learnt it too, but I have no interest. Or maybe I am too lazy. I didn't feel the need so far as there was always someone taking care of it

The only kids who have cars in college were the rich kids.
Is that safe? You don't need to bring your car to the mechanic? Anyway just always be safe ok.
I sound like this because a car got burned yesterday, its on the news, but luckily the driver is smart enough to stop the car and run out. A motorcycle just informed him that the gas is leaking from his auto.
It is really a grace from God.
Minor problem. I helped my sister with the vlookup in excel,

Yours was a much smaller problem than the one we had with the Mazda. A rear bearing went out and it lost all its grease. When the mechanic got into it he said some amateur had tried to do some kind of repair and messed it up. It took over $400 to make it right. On the other hand, the van was speaking to me, and I told Bob it was asking for power steering fluid. I was right and it is much happier now. We had the fluid on hand so that was a cheap fix.

I solved the problem of my headache this morning by rubbing Voltaran on my stiff neck, taking some tylenol and going back to bed... slept to 10am.

I couldn't remember where the boxes were for the Christmas ornaments but I've them now. That was a minor problem.
