Gummies Versus Capsules

I buy several different vitamins, herbs and such to help me get the nutrients and anti-oxidants I may not be getting in my diet. I am finding that more and more of the ones I buy are offering gummies and sometimes it is even hard to find them in capsule(or gel or whatever) form. I don't like the gummmies I feel they are not as good as the capsule form. I don't think they would have a consistent amount of the nutrient and I wonder about the safety of the ingredients used to make the formulation. Wondering about these things I did some research. Sure enough I find that the capsule form is usually more effective than the gummy. The capsule would have a more concentrated dose of the nutrients I am trying to get. The content is less in gummy form because manufacturers need to add some other ingredients to provide texture and color. The gummy form may also lose potency quickly and have a shorter shelf life. It is also difficult to be sure that each gummy has the same amount of nutrients. Consuming the gummy can also have some side effects such as stomach pain, vomiting, and even digestive issues.
I even find that some of the gummy brands are a bit more expensive. The store I get my groceries delivered from made a change to my order a few months back sending me gummies instead of the capsule because they were out. I began wondering then. So I am glad I did my research.

It's your choice just know that you may not be getting the full amount of the nutrient.

Just be aware that they may not get a consistent amount.

I buy multivitamin gummies for my daughter but capsules for myself. When I have gotten gummy vitamins for myself for free I love them. I can take them on an empty stomach which I can’t do with my capsule vitamins.
Interesting to learn what you have shared!

@celticeagle maybe that’s why they don’t make me vomit on an empty stomach because they don’t work well enough

Just know you may not be getting the full amount of nutrients with the gummies.

I usually don't like gummies with the additives in them.

I don't either. It made me mad when I got a bottle of vitamins delivered to me with my groceries. They had sent them because they were out of the capsule.

We buy the capsules or the pill form. I usually don't like the gummy meds.

I don't either. Now I feel justified in not getting them after doing the research that I did.

I will still prefer capsule or tablet.
