I am making leche flan to have a nice dessert for my therapist. I know that he will love it.
I also bought some chicken thighs and will cook them with mushrooms and cream. I´m not sure yet if I´ll serve them with mashed potatoes or rice.
I was thinking about money and discovered that he is charging me so little that it would only pay for the Uber if I had to go to his house or office. So I´ll just transfer him the money I owe him and forget for the moment to see how to get part of the money back from the insurance. The insurance company gives me so little money back that I ask for it basically only because it is my right. It is different when I go to the hospital though. Then I can pay a lot less than if I did not have the insurance.
My children have stopped paying for private insurances and are now under a state insurance which is a lot less. I don´t dare do that because I´m too old and had cancer. But my country has decent health programs even for the poor.
I´ll take a nap now and go to make the leche flan.. See you later.

Glad he isn't charging you much. Keep feeding him good and he won't raise his rates

Poor Martin will need to exercise a lot more himself if you keep feeding him so well.
I'm glad you enjoy his company after the therapy session is over.

@DaddyEvil In my country we were forbidden to go out of the house for 40 days then. And after that, we had to go out with the mask for ages.

I´d say that he is a tiny bit overweight, like most young people now. My grandson from Claudia´s side gained a lot of pounds with the pandemia. Now his father is taking him for hikes. But as he does not live with him, he eats too much.

@marguicha Everybody gained weight during the pandemic.
Pretty and I both gained weight then, too.

He is very kind to charge me less than half the normal price. He is one of my best friend´s son but he doesn´t have to do that. So I´m playing "dolls" with him. It has been fun to give him special food every time he comes.

@shaggin I knew what therapists charged. So when I asked him about his proce I was shocked. And now I´m pampering him as he pampers me. Today´s dish (chicken with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes) are delicious. The whole house is smelling like heaven.

Ny therapist is the son of one of my best friends. He charges me less than half of what therapy is worth here.. The insurance system here is very good for the very rich as it is everywhere.

Sometimes I tell him that he is hurting me but he does not listen to me. I did not have to rub Diclofenac on my legs today.

Wow, it sounds like you’re putting so much thought and care into both your cooking and your therapist’s visit! Leche flan is such a delicious treat—I’m sure your therapist will really appreciate the gesture. And that chicken dish with mushrooms and cream? Either mashed potatoes or rice would be perfect, but rice might soak up that creamy sauce beautifully!
It’s kind of you to consider the value of your therapist’s time and decide to pay what you owe without worrying too much about the insurance. It’s true—sometimes it’s more about doing what feels right rather than navigating a complicated system for minimal returns.
It’s good to hear your country has decent health programs, especially for emergencies. I can understand why you’d want to stick with private insurance given your medical history—it’s better to have peace of mind.

I might have a reasonable health program but I don´t dare check.

You're going to spoil your therapist, I got my groceries yesterday and made myself some chicken livers with seasoned fires and sweet potato fries today, I dredged the livers in seasoned flour and my electric pan did the rest,

The best chicken livers I ever had were some that one of my aunts fried to take to a picnic. She marinated them in a lot of crushed garlic and fried them in a very hot skillet so that they were fried outside and tender inside. YUMMY!!!

In such a rich country it is a pity that some people don´t have a decent health insurance.

State insurance is cheaper here, but you have to wait longer to be treated. I am eating better now that Martín comes to have lunch with me.

I love flan. I've only made it once. Keep feeding your therapist and maybe he will continue being a bargain. Have a good day.
