Hello everyone. I hope your day is off to a good start. It is 27 degrees F and snowing here at the Jersey Shore. Yuck. It is crazy here at work today. A huge number of staff and students are out. I have 2 coverages and I’m seeing people o never see from all over the building. The secretary was tearing her hair out this morning. One thing a coworker’s son pointed out was interesting—many of the Hispanic students are seeing snow in person for the first time. They are taking pictures and selfies. I’m dreading the drive back this afternoon. No big plans for the afternoon. What’s everyone else up to today?

I'd be one of those taking selfies and pictures of the snow. More of the latter I guess as I'm not one for taking selfies really.

I’ve had lunch, taken my meds, posted discussions, and now I’ll put on six layers of clothes to see if it’s feasible to get the recycling bin to the curb. If not, it can wait two weeks. It’s not like I’m filling up a landfill by myself.

From what I'm seeing on the news I would have thought your school would be closed today or at least closing early. Hope your trip home isn't bad.

My husband's cousin is coming over to help me today. Did you hear that Trump wants to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico? Have a good day.

Our schools were all closed today, as were some businesses. It's just not easy to get around, and the wind has been terrible. I am glad to have a day at home. When I was about 7, we lived in south Texas, I recall a semi truck that had 2 big snowmen inside, that he had brought from the north on a trip. People came from miles and miles, to see a snowman, as many had never seen snow. I was a winter baby born in Chicago, so of course I had been around snow from birth. But those who have never seen snow are often just excited to. I hope the drive home was smooth and uneventful!

Oh, that's an interesting point! I grew up in Berkeley CA (we moved to Chicago when I was eight) and did not see snow until my dad drover us up into the High Sierra Mountains when I was three or four.
