We Ended Up Getting About 11" Of Snow Plus 1.5" of Ice In Louisville, KY

United States

It's Day #3 of the Winter Storm. No more activity expected today just frigid temperatures in the low teens and maybe even single digits. We got 9" of snow on Sunday, 1.5 inches of ice on top of that, then 2" more snow on top of that. I live in a patio home community with an HOA, so our streets were plowed yesterday and our sidewalks and driveways were hand-shoveled. All at no cost to me. I don't know if we're planning to venture out today or not.

I'd never live in a community governed by an HOA. Too many rules. But having my driveway and walks shoveled would definitely be a plus, especially with that much snow. Although, my SnowJoe does a pretty good job of clearing snow.

I agree with you. HOAs charge you every month. With a sn*w situation like this, you can pay someone generously to shovel your driveway and not have to worry about that HOA charge for the other 11 months. Plus, they won’t tell you to take your Florida State flag down (a neighbor of mine has a Florida State Seminoles flag on his house)!!!

We got ice first, and then four inches of snow. It blows into much deeper drifts in my yard.

We have had temperatures as low as 13, but during the day it hovers around 30 degrees, and we only got a few flurries these past few days. My concern is always ice on the stupid flight of stairs to and from my apartment. So far, so good.

Atleast you do not have to shovel snow yourself

I’m going to kick Brian Goode’s rear end in August at the State Fair. I rescheduled my DexaScan for March (“when we’ll be dodging tornadoes,” I told the clerk ). She said the road up to the hospital is AWFUL. (Don’t know if you’ve ever seen that road going up to the VA hospital, but it’s 2.0 lanes, winding, and steep. NO room for error.)

That is a lot Lou. Not much snow here as yet but its snowing now and bone chilling outside. Be careful if you do wander out.

You are really getting all of your winter's precipitation at once. I'm glad that you made it home before this dump. Enjoy your quiet time inside where it is warm and cozy.

Very nice if you like snow. Oddly enough KY got snow and us up here in WI got nothing, we are getting some cold weather but nothing too bad for us up here. Stay warm.
