Missing eggs

I was with my mom at Lidl a few weeks ago. We were looking at eggs. I picked up a carton of a dozen brown eggs and gave it to her. When she opened it up there were only ten eggs inside instead of twelve. She put the carton back on the shelf and I got her another one. This one was full. What happened to the two missing eggs? Good thing she checked. Once she didn’t do that and when she opened up the carton at home to transfer the eggs to the egg holder she noticed a few were missing. Do you check your eggs before buying them? I usually do but it’s to make sure none are cracked. Perhaps now I should also check to make sure no eggs are missing.

I have found several products lately that have something missing. I bought some cranberry pills on line. The package was tightly sealed but the pills had been opened and some were missing. I did get my money back but how disappointing I had to throw them out because you are not supposed to use anything that has been opened. It could have been tampered with. I noticed the other day that the 12-pack of canned soda is now 10 but the price is the same. Everywhere you go, it seems like someone is trying to cheat you.

@lovebuglena That is so true. Some people must think we won't notice when something is missing.

@akalinus some people don’t bother to check though.

$6 is not that bad by today’s prices. Here in NYC one carton can be $6.

@porwest I agree that prices are crazy but I gotta have my eggs lol. I get the cheapest brown dozen. Don’t care if they are regular, organic, cage-free, free-range, vegetarian, etc. No preference as long as they are the cheapest lol. And the cheapest ain’t cheap by any means. But I gotta have my eggs.

@lovebuglena Speak for yourself. $6 is a reason to not buy eggs! lol
